Blood Drive Scheduled at Downtown Ventura Farmers’ Market
Ventura, Calif. – The Ventura Downtown Farmers’ Market, located on the corner of east Santa Clara & Palm Streets, will host a Blood Drive scheduled for Saturday, December 12 during regular Farmers’ Market hours, 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
Conducted by United Blood Services, individuals can look for the United Blood Services bus, which will be located on the corner of Palm Street. Those interested in giving blood, must be well and healthy and be able to show identification. Individuals who donate a pint of blood will have an opportunity to enter into a drawing to receive a $250 gift certificate to Trader Joes in addition to $5 in gift certificates to use towards their purchases at the Farmers’ Market. According to officials, blood continues to be in demand, especially in the current economy and individuals are encouraged to donate.
The Ventura County Certified Farmers’ Market Association operates four weekly markets with two in Ventura, one in Thousand Oaks and one in Santa Clarita. The Ventura Farmers’ Markets in Downtown Ventura takes place every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
